NOTICE OF BUOY CHANGES AT ENTRANCE TO CLARENCE TOWN HARBOUR, LONG ISLAND:
The Explorer Chart LI 9 on p. 53 of the Explorer Chartbook Far Bahamas (10th edition) shows three buoys marking the entrance to Clarence Town Harbour. Currently, two buoys are missing and a remaining red one is off station to the south. It meanders around the harbour and should be ignored. Follow the entrance course on the chart.

We just completed a survey of the cost of moorings in the Bahamas. Our numbers are based on information from local sources, not the Internet. We did find that a search of the Internet revealed ranges of prices that werenât always accurate.

As an American lving in Nassau and Spanish Wells for over a decade . . . . and going to Abaco 4 days after Dorian with the Spanish Wells Lobster trawlers . . . I can tell you without a doubt . . . That Dorian & Covid together was a far more devastating economic disaster to hit our Beloved Bahamas ! They had to dig themselves OUT-OF-A HOLE somehow and tourism is the ladder out! ! !

The northern formerly dredged channel, marked with buoys, is unreliable. The sand shoal on Henry Bank continues to be fluid.
If your vessel has any draft at all, you are best to use the Old Channel to the south where the range used to be. There are no markers remaining.
Explorer Charts BIM 1 (small-scale) in the Near Bahamas Chartbook, 12th edition, has changed several courses leading to the South Bimini waypoint. See screenshot. VPR required as you approach.Â

Adolpha Maritime Group Bahamas has begun a five-year project to renew the marine aids to navigation in Bahamas waters. Notices to Mariners attached describing aids that have already been restored.
