The Northwest Channel Light remains unlit. Several Years ago a very tall pole was driven into the bottom at the site of the old light structure which had been destroyed by a large motor yacht colliding with it. The Bahamas Defencel Force has apparently been unable or unwilling to place a light on this pole and maintain it. Mariners should keep a sharp lookout when approaching this area at night or in poor visibility.

The Chub Cay Club channel entrance marker poles, Fl G "1" and Fl R "2", still exist in the positions shown on Chart BER 8 (Near Bahamas Chartbook, Ninth Edition). Both poles are leaning away from the channel and only the green marker is currently lighted (Fl G 4s). A pole near the marina basin with a currently working Fl R 4s light is located at approximately 25° 24.7' N/77° 54.56'W. The green lighted pole (Fl G "5") no longer exists.

The light on the pole near the north end of Normans Pond Cay (Charts EX 24 and Ex 25, Exumas and Ragged Islands Chartbook) has been reported working again. The light had previously been missing from the pole shown on the charts. The light characteristics are Q Fl (flashing every two seconds).
